Domain Specialist

Sector Intelligence for Real-World Operations.

The Domain Specialist ensures that every AI deployment is shaped by the operational, regulatory, linguistic, and economic realities of the sector it serves. AI systems do not create value by being generic; they create value by understanding the specific logic of a field. In healthcare, this may involve triage workflows, referral pathways, patient privacy, clinical escalation, and continuity of care. In public services, it may involve eligibility rules, citizen rights, administrative procedures, document validation, and service-level obligations. In trade, it may involve customs documentation, supplier verification, export compliance, logistics bottlenecks, payment risk, and dispute resolution. In finance, it may involve KYC, AML, credit scoring, fraud detection, transaction monitoring, liquidity patterns, and audit controls. In agriculture, it may involve weather risk, seasonal calendars, pest alerts, market pricing, cooperative structures, soil data, and field extension services.

The Domain Specialist translates sector expertise into system requirements. They define authoritative data sources, operational taxonomies, domain ontologies, evaluation scenarios, decision rules, risk boundaries, escalation logic, terminology, and compliance requirements. They help engineers understand which workflows should be automated, which should remain human-reviewed, and which require strict guardrails. Their work prevents AI from producing answers that are technically fluent but operationally wrong. They also review failed intents, incorrect classifications, operator overrides, and user feedback after launch, turning real usage into continuous system improvement. The Domain Specialist makes the deployment:

  • Sound, behave, and perform as if it belongs inside the client’s sector
  • Adaptable, so it doesn’t feel like an external technology bolted on from the outside

how it worksA deeper dive.

Because every sector has its own rules, language, risks, workflows, compliance requirements, and decision logic. AI must understand those realities to be useful and safe.

Health, public services, trade, finance, agriculture, education, logistics, energy, climate, insurance, legal services, media, telecommunications, and industrial operations.

They produce workflow maps, domain taxonomies, knowledge structures, evaluation cases, risk rules, escalation criteria, policy logic, and sector-specific requirements for the technical team.

They make sure the AI system answers with the right terminology, uses trusted sources, respects sector constraints, escalates high-risk cases, and solves problems that actually matter to the client.
